Overview

The course "jurisprudence of zakat and endowment" in general seeks to clarify: first: (the truth about zakat, its ruling and the conditions for its obligation, the provisions of zakat on livestock, the provisions of zakat on land, the provisions of zakat on cash, the provisions of zakat on trade offers, the provisions of zakat al-fitr, the provisions related to the disbursement of zakat, the provisions Related to the people of zakat, the provisions of voluntary charity, the disbursement of zakat, the role of the jurisprudence of zakat in economic treatments, such as dealing with financial and monetary inflation, as well as an explanation of the provisions for investing zakat funds and the dispute arising therein.This course aims to provide the student with the following:Clarify the concepts and terms of zakat and endowment.• Mentioning the provisions of zakat and endowment with rooting and inference.• Formation of a jurisprudential faculty in the student, through which he can comprehend the provisions of zakat and endowment, deduce them and apply them to the facts.• Demonstrate the ethics and skills of dealing with offenders in contentious matters.• Using modern technology to access information on course issues.

Intended learning outcomes

First: Mental Skills:• The student should know the concepts and terminology of zakat and endowment.• That the student defines the conditions and pillars of zakat and endowment in detail.• The student should differentiate between what is obligatory and what is not obligatory, and between what is fit to be a waqf and what is not.Second: Scientific and Professional Skills:• Enhancing the student's ability to acquire the jurisprudential faculty and enabling him to understand the accurate zakat and endowment terminology.• The ability to understand and research the texts of jurisprudential books and extract information from their original sources.• The ability to employ the Libyan Zakat Law in its specific areas.• The ability to understand the controversy in the issues of investing zakat and endowment funds and its role in dealing with financial and monetary inflation through them.

Teaching and learning methods

The course is offered to the student through:• Giving lectures using the Slide System presentation.• Panel discussions and dialogue.• Assigning the student a working paper to be discussed during the lectures.

Methods of assessments

Evaluation method:• Written midterm exam 30%.• Activity 10%.• Final written exam 60%
